A few suggestions of LEGENDARY WOMEN for the SSRG advert breaks...

Hiya,
If people need suggestions of women to research when its their turn to present the 'Advert Break' below are a few suggestions from off the top of my head... obvs there are 1000's more from all four corners of the world!
The Advert Break is a 5-10 minute presentation of the life/works of a fabulous female from history whose work may have been overshadowed. She could be someone you admire or think other people should know about, someone who was influential and now is forgotten or someone from the present day who isn't getting the exposure they deserve. They don't have to be perfect and nor do you have to agree with everything they said and the presentation can take any form you wish.

Rosa Luxemburg - Polish/German revolutionary
Alexandra Kollontai - amazing Bolshevik
Inessa Armand - amazing Bolshevik
Countess Markievicz - Irish Republican and first ever female MP in Britain
Angela Davis - American Communist / Black Power
Kathleen Cleaver - Black Panthers
Florence Kelley - early American socialist campaigner, worked with Engels
Ella Baker - contemporary of Martin Luther King (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ella_Baker)
Fanny Lou Hamer - contemporary of Martin Luther King (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_Lou_Hamer)
Mary Jane McLeod Bethune - US Black Civil Rights activist.
Coretta Scott King - contemporary of Martin Luther King (http://www.jofreeman.com/civilrights/coretta_king.htm)
Flora Tristan - French/Peruvian socialist feminist from 1800's who predated a lot of Marx & Engels work (Presentation on Flora done by me in December)
